We collect the following information when you use Hiisi:

• Account information: Email address, display name, and a securely hashed password.
• Learning data: Your translations, saved flashcards, and review history.
• Usage data: Basic server logs for security and debugging purposes.

How We Use Your Data

• Authentication: To verify your identity and secure your account.
• Service delivery: To provide translations and manage your flashcard collection.
• AI translations: Your translation requests are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. See Anthropic's privacy policy for how they handle this data.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Anthropic (Claude API): For AI-powered translations.
• Mailgun: For sending account activation and transactional emails.
• Polar.sh: For subscription payment processing.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies:

• Authentication token: A secure, HTTP-only cookie to keep you logged in.
• Language preference: To remember your preferred UI language.

Data Retention

Your data is stored as long as you maintain an account. When you request deletion, your account is scheduled for deletion in 14 days.

• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
